Beatlenut for Dinner, and Brick Yard for Drinks (Both on Union Street in San Francisco)
Marshall:)
Monterey/Carmel for a weekend trip, and Maui was our first big trip
When a job opportunity took a good friend, Deep, over to Hong Kong, Marshall and Carissa jumped at the opportunity to visit over New Years break in late 2016/early 2017.
The trip started off as planned, exploring a city that was new to both Marshall and Carissa. They ate dim sum for every meal, had high tea at the Intercontinental Hotel, visited the Big Buddah on Lantau Island, and rang in 2017 on a boat in Hong Kong Harbor with friends.
On the final evening in Hong Kong, Marshall had the plan of taking Carissa up to Victoria Peak (a vantage point that looks down on the entire city and harbor) to watch the sun set and propose overlooking the twinkling city lights. Coming up the escalators to the main outdoor area, they were shuffled into a thick crowd of hundreds of bustling tourists (think selfie sticks, and tour guides yelling directions) --- not exactly a romantic setting...Marshall was very disappointed to waste an incredible view, but it was on to his Plan B.
Next up on the agenda for the evening was drinks at a glass-enclosed lounge called Aqua. It was located on the other island of Hong Kong that faced towards an equally breathtaking view of the water and skyline. Unbeknownst to Carissa, Marshall had arranged for the best seat in the house, and two flutes of champagne.
Once the champagne arrived at the table, Marshall dropped to his knee and said "I want to marry you"
.....and even though it wasn't a question, she said YES!
